Black Friday is when many Irish CBD shops run their biggest offers of the year. It can be a good time to stock up, but it is also when inflated “was” prices, short best-before dates and pressure selling are most common. This guide covers when Black Friday 2026 falls, how to tell a genuine deal from a gimmick, and how to buy CBD sensibly during the sales.
When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November 2026, followed by Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. Many Irish online shops start their offers a week or more earlier and run them through to the start of December. Christmas delivery cut-off dates usually follow in mid-December, so Black Friday is also a good time to order gifts.
How to tell a real CBD deal
1. Work out the price per milligram
Divide the sale price by the total CBD in the bottle or pack. A 10% oil with 1,000mg at €60 is 6 cent per mg. If a “buy one get one free” offer gives you 2,000mg for €60, that is 3 cent per mg, a genuine halving of the price. Compare deals across brands on this basis rather than on percentage discounts.
2. Check the “was” price
A 50% discount means little if the original price was raised just before the sale. Look at the price a few weeks before, or compare with similar products from other Irish brands.
3. Check the best-before date
Stocking up only makes sense if you will use it in time. Most CBD oils last 12 to 24 months unopened. Ask the seller for the best-before date of sale stock.
4. Do not skip the lab report
A cheap bottle with no certificate of analysis is not a bargain. The same quality checks apply in a sale: CBD content in milligrams, a batch number, and THC not detected.
5. Read the small print
Check whether the offer applies to all products, whether discount codes can be combined, delivery costs, and the returns policy. Opened food supplements usually cannot be returned.
Types of Black Friday CBD offers
- Buy one get one free: often the best value per mg if you will use both bottles before the best-before date.
- Percentage off: easy to understand, but check the original price.
- Bundles: oil plus gummies or cream at a set price. Good value only if you want every item in the bundle.
- Free gifts: nice, but value them at what you would actually pay.
- Free delivery: worth having, especially on smaller orders.
Stocking up safely
- Buy only what you will use before the best-before date.
- Store unopened bottles in a cool, dark cupboard, upright and sealed.
- Do not take more CBD because you have more in the house. Keep to the recommended daily serving.
- Keep gummies and oils out of reach of children and pets, especially with extra stock around at Christmas.
Buying CBD as a Christmas gift
CBD can be a thoughtful gift for someone who already uses it. For someone who does not, it is better to ask first: CBD is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, can interact with medicines, and is not for children. A gift card from a CBD shop lets the person choose for themselves. Avoid gifting CBD to anyone who has to pass workplace drug tests unless the product’s lab report shows THC is not detected.
Avoid these “deals”
- Social media sellers offering huge discounts with no website or lab reports.
- “THC”, “HHC” or “delta-8” products at any price. HHC became a controlled drug in Ireland in July 2025.
- Marketplace listings for “hemp oil” with no CBD stated in milligrams.
- Websites with no Irish or EU address or phone number.
Our own Black Friday offers
For transparency, BDI.ie is run by the team behind Dr. Hemp Me and CBD Éire.
- Dr. Hemp Me runs a site-wide Buy One Get One Free offer for Black Friday each year. Details and dates for 2026 will be on drhempme.ie; VIP early access and guarantee details are coming soon. Free delivery in Ireland applies over €50.
- CBD Éire runs seasonal offers on its full spectrum oils; check cbdéire.ie for current deals.
Compare our offers with other Irish brands using the price-per-milligram method above.
Black Friday checklist
- Note what you used last year and how long a bottle lasts you.
- Shortlist two or three Irish brands and their normal prices now.
- On the day, calculate price per mg for each offer.
- Check lab reports, best-before dates and delivery times.
- Order before the Christmas delivery cut-off if buying gifts.
Worked example: comparing three offers
| Offer | What you get | Price | Price per mg CBD |
|---|---|---|---|
| A: 30% off | 1 x 10% oil (1,000mg) | €42 | 4.2c |
| B: Buy one get one free | 2 x 10% oil (2,000mg) | €60 | 3.0c |
| C: Bundle | 5% oil (500mg) + 30 gummies at 10mg (300mg) | €45 | 5.6c |
These are made-up figures to show the method. Offer C looks generous but is the most expensive per milligram, while B is the cheapest if you will use both bottles before they expire. Doing this sum takes a minute and avoids being swayed by large percentages.
Delivery and timing tips
Couriers are busy from late November to Christmas, so allow extra time. Irish CBD shops usually dispatch within a working day, but sale volumes can add a day or two. If you are buying gifts, check each shop’s last order date for Christmas delivery and order well before it. Keep your order confirmation and tracking emails, and contact the shop quickly if anything arrives damaged.
Why prices drop on Black Friday
CBD margins are tight for most small Irish brands because of testing, compliance and packaging costs. Black Friday offers are usually funded by bulk production runs and the chance to win new customers who stay for the rest of the year. That is why the strongest offers tend to be on core products such as 10% oils, rather than on newer or specialist items. If a deal on a product you rely on is good, it may be worth buying a few months’ supply, provided the dates allow.
After the sales
Make a note of what you bought, the best-before dates and the price you paid. It makes next year’s comparison quicker and stops you forgetting older bottles at the back of the cupboard. Use the oldest stock first.
Questions to ask a CBD shop before you buy in the sale
- Is this offer on the same products and strengths you sell all year?
- What is the best-before date on the sale stock?
- Can I see the lab report for this batch?
- Does the lab report show THC is not detected?
- When will my order be dispatched, and what is your last date for Christmas delivery?
- What happens if my order arrives damaged?
A good Irish CBD business will answer all of these quickly and clearly, sale or no sale. If you cannot get a straight answer, take your money elsewhere. Good value is a fair price for a properly tested product you will actually use, not simply the biggest discount on the page.
We update this guide every autumn with the latest dates and offers, so check back in November before you shop.
Frequently asked questions
When is Black Friday 2026?
Friday 27 November 2026, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. Many shops start earlier.
Is Black Friday a good time to buy CBD oil?
It can be, if you compare price per milligram, check lab reports and only buy what you will use before the best-before date.
How long does CBD oil last?
Usually 12 to 24 months unopened. Check the best-before date and store it in a cool, dark place.
Is buy one get one free good value?
Often, because it halves the price per milligram, provided you will use both bottles in time.
Can I return CBD bought in a sale?
Opened food supplements usually cannot be returned. Check the shop’s returns policy before buying.
Is CBD a good Christmas gift?
For someone who already uses it, yes. Otherwise ask first, as CBD is not suitable for everyone.
Are cheap CBD deals on social media safe?
Avoid them. Without a lab report you cannot know what is in the product.
Do Black Friday offers apply to all products?
It depends on the shop. Read the terms for exclusions and whether codes can be combined.
