BDI

Intellectual Property

The BDI has generated a strong portfolio of intellectual property, borne out of the diverse technical disciplines that come together in our research strands. The BDI IP portfolio includes cutting edge devices and methodologies in microfluidics, molecular assays and signal detection, novel biomarkers of disease, and know-how pertaining to the generation and optimisation of customised antibodies.

A list of published patent applications generated from BDI research and development is available here.

The institute is governed by an Intellectual Property Model that is designed to maximise the capture and commercial exploitation of innovative technologies and to facilitate technology transfer to industry. The Model allows for flexible, be-spoke agreements relating to IP ownership and exploitation rights.
