BDI.ie is an independent Irish website about CBD, hemp and food supplements. It is owned and run by the team behind Dr. Hemp Me and CBD Éire, two Irish CBD brands. When an article mentions or recommends those brands, that is our own business, and we say so on the page.
Who we are
We are a small team based in Ireland that has sold CBD and supplements since 2018. We write BDI.ie to answer the questions our customers ask most: what CBD is, what the law in Ireland and Europe says, how to read a lab report, and how to compare products. Articles are written and checked by the Dr. Hemp Me team.
How we write
- We tell you when we have a commercial interest. Any page that links to Dr. Hemp Me or CBD Éire carries a note saying we own those brands.
- No medical claims. CBD products sold in Ireland are food supplements or cosmetics, not medicines. Nothing on this site is medical advice. Talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking a supplement, especially if you take other medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Comparisons include other brands. Where we list products, we include other companies that are still trading and explain how we judged them, so you can make up your own mind.
- We update articles. Each article shows when it was last reviewed. If you spot something out of date, tell us.
About this domain: the Biomedical Diagnostics Institute
Until it closed, the domain bdi.ie belonged to the Biomedical Diagnostics Institute (BDI), a research centre at Dublin City University (DCU) funded by Science Foundation Ireland, which worked on next-generation diagnostic devices.
The Biomedical Diagnostics Institute no longer operates, and this website has no connection with it or with DCU. The institute’s old pages, job vacancies and student programmes are no longer available here, and any links to them now lead to this page. For DCU’s current research, visit dcu.ie.
