BDI POST GRAD SUCCESSFUL AT POSTER COMPETITION
BDI post graduate Daniel Kirby recently took part in the Institute of Physics in Ireland Rosse Medal competition. Daniel is a post graduate student working in Prof. Jens Ducrée's group.
Daniel was shortlisted for the final of the competition where he was required to make a ten minute presentation with a general audience in mind. He finished in 3rd place and on the night he was awarded his prize by Nobel Prize Laureate William Phillips. The Rosse Medal commemorates Sir Williams Parsons, the 3rd Earl of Rosse and his contributions to science.
