BDI LAUNCHES PRACTICAL SCIENCE & HEALTH PROGRAMME
As part of the BDI's ongoing commitment to science and health education, we are launching a Practical Science & Health programme for early junior cycle students.
The Practical Science & Health programme is an opportunity for early junior cycle students to explore topics related to health and the human body in an informal laboratory environment. This initiative is run by the Education & Outreach team at the Biomedical Diagnostics Institute, Dublin City University. The programme will run during the Easter holidays 2011 with additional after-school sessions planned.
During the programme participants will explore science topics relating to the human body and disease. Each session will involve some background discussion on the topic followed by an opportunity for "hands-on" experimentation. The use of educational and fun mobile media will also be introduced which will enable a deeper understanding of the subject area for participants.
For further information on the programme contact Emma O'Brien, Education & Outreach Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org or 01 7005349.
