BDI RESEARCH FEATURED IN IRISH TIMES
BDI research has recently featured in an article in the science section of the Irish Times. In the article "Taking a breath for better health", Dr. Conor Burke (BDI Associate Director, Commercialisation) discusses work carried out on breath monitoring for diagnosis of disease.
The research, led by Professor Tony Killard (BDI/ University of West England), focuses on detecting ammonia in breath in order to assess a person's kidney and liver function. This could lead to a device for personal monitoring of liver dysfunction which would be convenient and non-invasive.
