BDI RESEARCHER WINS "I'M A SCIENTIST, GET ME OUT OF HERE!" COMPETITION

11.14

BDI researcher Dr. Shikha Sharma recently won the Beryllium zone of this year's "I'm a Scientist, Get me out of here!". This is a knockout-style competition where school students get to meet and interact with scientists.

Students challenge the scientists over intense, fast-paced online live chats. They then ask the scientists all the questions they want to, and vote for their favourite scientist to win. Questions cover all aspects of science, from space to DNA.

Shikha works with Professor Richard O’Kennedy on the PROSENSE project where they are trying to develop a multiplexed marker based point-of-care device for prostate cancer. The prize was €500 prize to spend on a science communication project. Congratulations Shikha!
