BDI RESEARCHER WINS "I'M A SCIENTIST, GET ME OUT OF HERE!" COMPETITION

11.13

BDI researcher Sinead Cullen recently won the nanotechnology zone of this year's "I'm a Scientist, Get me out of here!". I'm a Scientist is a knockout-style competition where school students get to meet and interact with scientists.

Students challenge the scientists over intense, fast-paced online live chats. They then ask the scientists all the questions they want to, and vote for their favourite scientist to win.

This year there were 359 students registered in the nanotechnology zone. They posted 227 questions for the 5 scientists in the zone and in the live chats on everything from changing the laws of physics to emotions and dreams.

Sinead won €500 prize money to spend on her own science communication project.

Congratulations also go to fellow BDI researcher Adam Murphy who made it to the final of the nanotechnology zone.
